Dr. Herrera-Garcia’s passion for integrative women’s health care began early in her medical career when she recognized the need for a more comprehensive approach to pregnancy care that extends beyond current health management. To complement her expertise, Dr. H-G completed additional post-graduate training in Fetal Echocardiography, Reproductive Biology Research, Critical Care in Obstetrics, Nutrition, Fitness, Addiction Medicine and Maternal Mental Health. Dr. Herrera-Garcia’s values the importance of developing a cohesive plan with her patients to help them achieve optimal pregnancy outcomes and future health.
She is a member of the Arizona Department of Health Maternal Mortality Review Committee and an Associate Professor of Medicine at both Creighton University and University of Arizona – Phoenix. She graduated from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland and a Fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine at Rutgers Robert Wood Medical School in New Brunswick, NJ.
Dr. Herrera-Garcia has received numerous awards and honors for her outstanding accomplishments in women’s health, research, obstetrics, and teaching. Her research has focused on cholestasis of pregnancy, preeclampsia, asthma, immunology, and behavioral health.
