Who Can Qualify?

AHCCCS is open to Arizona residents who meet certain income requirements and other criteria. Most adults ages 19 – 64 that do not qualify for Medicare, are US citizens or qualified immigrants, and are under the monthly income limit of $1,670 for a one-person household will qualify for AHCCCS.

Examples of people who qualify are:

• Adults
• Caretaker relatives
• Disabled individuals
• Persons who require nursing home or in-home care
• Pregnant women
• Women who need breast or cervical cancer screening

Children and people over 65 may also qualify as well.

Understanding Medicaid Coverage for OBGYN Services in Arizona

It’s important to understand Medicaid coverage for OBGYN services—that way, you know what is covered and what isn’t. 

AHCCCS For Pregnant Women

AHCCCS will cover pregnancy services, such as 3D ultrasounds and prenatal care for women who qualify. Those who qualify are women who are Arizona residents, pregnant, are US citizens or qualified immigrants, have a social security number, and have income under the income limits that AHCCCS outlines.

AHCCCS For Cancer Screening

Women who have been diagnosed with breast or cervical cancer or have pre-cancerous cervical legions may qualify for AHCCCS. There is no income limit established for this, but the screening has to be completed under the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection program.
